NYC is one of my top 5 favorite cities! It is the perfect location for a quick weekend &/or extended weekend! So here is how you can take NYC on in 4 days!!!
Tip: When navigating NYC take the subway everywhere! It is so cheap and so quick. To understand the subway you can always use the map on your phone. Just click the transit button and it will tell you what train to take and when to get off etc.
FRIDAY
Arrived in the city around 9pm & checked to our hotel, New York Marriott Marquis.
Tip: If you want to stay in the heart of time square, Marriott Marquis this is the best hotel and so close to everything!
SATURDAY
On this particular day it happens to be ST. Patty’s day! There is a great parade through the city & every little corner was a party!
We watched the parade for a few hours and it was great! So many bagpipes & such a cool atmosphere!
After the parade & lunch we continued to walk the streets. So many cool storefronts to see and it was great just seeing the city.
Always time for a photoshoot in the city :)
Dinner we got real fancy & ate at K. Rico! I can’t recommend this place enough!!! The best steak & vegetables, ever!
After dinner we went out dancing at Swing 46 Jazz Bar. This was such a fun place to dance at & grab drinks!
SUNDAY
We took the subway to Little Italy, walked around & shopped. We stopped for an early lunch at a little pizza by the slice shop. You can’t go wrong with any pizza place in Little Italy!
After lunch we walked over to the Brooklyn Bridge.
After walking the bridge we walked over to the 9/11 memorial. I was young & I don't remember that day but I was still in tears! The memorial was done so beautifully. I easily spent 2 hours here but definitely could’ve spent more. While we were here we also checked out the 9/11 mall.
For dinner we tried Juniors & had some of their famous cheesecake! Yummy!
MONDAY
We were up early and headed to catch the ferry to the Statue of Liberty. Some people suggest going on the Staten Island ferry to see the statue since it’s free, but you just get a closer look of the statue. For us the ferry cost $18 & also dropped you off at Ellis Island too. Overall, we spent close to 3 hours from the ferry ride to walking around & reading the history.
We scored tickets to see Jimmy Fallon live so we had to hurry back to the hotel, change & drop off all our electronics. We wanted to make sure we got there with plenty of time even though we had tickets. We got there around 3 & didn’t leave till 7pm. To score tickets make sure you signup as soon the dates open though https://fallon.1iota.com/show/353/the-tonight-show-starring-jimmy-fallon
We grabbed dinner at the famous Black Tap. Yummy food & shakes!!
After dinner we went to The Top of The Rock! So pretty at night!
TUESDAY
We got up super early and headed for the Rockefeller Ice Rink. We got there as soon as it had opened up in case there was a long wait. Turns out there was no wait and we were able to skate right away with only 10 people on the ice.
After ice skating, we stopped at Pick a Bagel! They seriously make the best bagels in NYC!!!
We walked around central park and it was so pretty in the cold!
We took the subway to Brooklyn and checked out Peter Luger’s Steakhouse. Super yummy!!
Fun fact, my maiden name is Luger. No clue if I’m related to Peter Luger but it would be cool!
After Brooklyn, we walked around the financial district. So much action around wall street and it was pretty cool to see!
Stopped at the raging bull!
We grabbed coffee with our cousin who lives in the city at MUD in the east village. Great coffee & super cute shop.
Then we hurried back and quickly got ready to see The Lion King!! I have seen Hamilton, Lion King & Frozen on Broadway and they all were AMAZING. So depending on your price point, any broadway show will most likely be amazing! Some people wait at TKTS for reduced price Broadway tickets, but I wasn't willing to waste time trying to save money, when I could be exploring the city. (& trust me I love saving money!)
Finished off the night getting a famous picture on the red steps!
WEDNESDAY
We happened to wake up to a heavy snowfall outside!! It was glorious! We only had a few hours to kill before we had to leave the city.
We grabbed bagels from juniors & took the subway to Central Park! It was so pretty in the snow!
After this we headed back to the hotel, grabbed our bags & left the city! Our next stop was Niagara falls!
